NOTICE OF LEAVE OF ABSENCE FROM PROVIDING LEGAL SERVICES
(Daryl H. Carlson, Attorney at Law)
(Date of Notice: April 1, 2016)
Many of you know that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (“LDS Church”). Recently the LDS Church requested me to serve with my wife, Vallorie, as a full-time Mission President. We will be serving our Mission in Indiana for a period of approximately 3 years. For this reason, I will not be providing legal services until around August of 2019.
If you are an existing or former client and in need of legal services for your estate planning or trust matters, please feel free to contact my son Gregory J. Carlson (“Greg”) so that he can assist you or refer you to another attorney who can. Greg is not a member of my firm, but he has his own independent law practice. He is licensed to practice law in both California and Nevada. Greg has a law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (Concentration in Tax), and a Master of Accountancy in Tax from Brigham Young University. At Hastings Greg was designated as the top law student in his classes in “Tax Seminar,” “Legal Writing and Research,” and “Real Estate Taxation,” and he served on the Hastings Law Journal (UC Hastings’ primary law review). After law school Greg worked with a premier estate planning firm in California and with a major law firm in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has also passed the CPA exam. Greg is a skilled lawyer in whom I have great confidence. Greg’s current contact information is as follows (however, after July 1, 2017, please call Greg to verify his current address):

I will continue to carry professional liability insurance through January 31, 2017. However, after January 31, 2017, I will no longer carry that insurance. Therefore, pursuant to California Rule of Professional Conduct 3-410, I am informing you in writing that I will no longer have professional liability insurance after January 31, 2017.
